On his recent official visit to Paraguay, where he met with Santiago Peña, the president-elect, Adriane Lopes, mayor of Campo Grande, underscored the city's strategic role in consolidating the Latin American Integration Route (RILA).
The central geographical position of Campo Grande, together with the availability of human resources and commercial opportunities, make it the ideal place to establish commercial offices, support centers and logistics for this new development axis.
According to Mayor Lopes, Campo Grande is working to become a logistics and merchandise distribution hub, which will generate savings and efficiency to serve Brazilian companies and companies from other countries, such as Paraguay. This route will benefit those seeking to export to Asian countries, the main importers of grains, fibers, proteins and minerals from Brazil.
During the meeting, Santiago Peña, Paraguay's president-elect, confirmed his country's willingness to partner with Campo Grande. He promised to devote considerable attention to the states bordering Paraguay, with special interest in integration through the waterway. In addition, he accepted an invitation to visit Campo Grande in the near future.
Adriane Lopes assures that the economy of Campo Grande will experience significant growth with the implementation of the Route, which is expected to be operational in two or three years. An example of this were the business rounds held during Expogrande 2023, which brought together delegations from different countries.
The capital of Mato Grosso do Sul, home to more than 122,787 active companies, including more than 2,200 industries, is the 14th most populous city in Brazil. Another noteworthy fact is that Campo Grande has the lowest unemployment rate among the Brazilian capitals, an achievement attributed to the effective management and promotion of opportunities.
To take advantage of the opportunities generated by the Bioceanic Route, Campo Grande is launching 20 face-to-face courses and 80 online for more than 10,000 young people who seek to improve their skills, focusing mainly on the market opportunities that the Bioceanic Route will generate.
